Select Books is pleased to invite you to a talk by photographer Wong Wei Yuet on "Fukushima Project - The Stories behind the Photos", on Saturday, 25 January 2014 at 3:00pm.
Fukushima Project - The Stories behind the Photos
It's almost 3 years since the earthquake, tsunami, and the nuclear disaster in northeastern Japan. Since then, most of the news from Fukushima has been negative. However, how is it like to visit Fukushima? How are the people there? How do they feel?
Six months after the earthquake in northeastern Japan, Wei Yuet visited Fukushima, to listen to stories from friends, and to see how they are coping. Since that visit in 2011, he has been going back every summer, to help a kids camp, and also to visit friends.
During the talk, he will share some of the memories, and impressions of how it was like to venture into Fukushima, and invite discussion from the audience.
